Synopsis: In Beautiful Stranger, finance whiz Sara Dillon met the irresistibly sexy Brit, Max Stella, at a New York City club. Through the series we’ve watched them learn to balance commitment with their less than private brand of playfulness.

InBeautiful Beloved, Max and Sara take it to the next step. But the question is: Will they be able to find a balance between the wild sexcapades they aren’t ready to retire, and the demands of parenthood that come along with their new Beautiful bundle of joy? Parenthood: it’s not for the weak of heart.

Of course I had to read Beautiful Beloved. 1) I adore Christina and Lauren. 2) I have a couple crush on Max and Sara. 3) I just had a child, of course I would want to read about a sexy dad version of Max. Who wouldn’t?

Beautiful Beloved brings us back into the lives of Sara and Max. This time, the two show us how their lives have evolved after having a child. They both have had to find a balance between their parenthood, their careers, and their passion for each other. Max finds that Sara is still fragile postpartum, and Sara is struggling to balance everything she cares about.

Life is definitely different after having a child, and I love how Beautiful Beloved was honest about it all. There’s a vulnerability trying to find the spark between a husband and a wife after a newborn, and Christina Lauren explored all the aspects of this newly found life. They just make parenthood sexy.

Max is a even more sexy as a father. He is compassionate and thoughtful, yet he is also selfish – which I love. Showing Max in a different light just adds to his appeal, and I didn’t even think that it was possible. I have always enjoyed Sara’s story, and this journey into motherhood makes me love her even more.

There are guest appearances by our other favorite characters, and an introduction to Niall. It makes me greedy to know more about him, so I’ll definitely be looking forward to that.

Beautiful Beloved is about after the Happy Ever After, and it isn’t always as romantic as you would think. And where Christina Lauren shows us some of the unseemly details of parenthood, they also show us the romance  and passion that goes along with it.
