Media Mondays: Fall TV 2011

Fall doesn’t just mean back to school, end of summer vacations, or a plethora of book releases. It also means the return of some amazing tv shows and the release of exciting new ones.

I must admit, long gone are the days of great quality television. It seems that there is an edgier and sexier pattern to fall’s lineup of television, and this time, the boys are taking a back seat. Among a dozen or so shows that are premiering this fall on five major networks, women will be taking the lead.

With that comes the argument of the context that women are taken into consideration. Are they liberated or are they demeaned? But isn’t that an age-old question?

But regardless, there are some awesome new shows, and quite a few that I am looking forward to. In my book, there is a network race, to see which shows will dominate and which shows will flop. From a lot of the extended commercials that are premiering the fall lineup, I see a lot of promise. Some definitely more than others.

But, enough of that. Let’s showcase the TV shows, shall we?

By the way, what shows are you looking forward to this fall season?

  1. Great resource – I love that you have listed the premiere dates. I’m looking forward to the return of Glee, The Good Wife and Modern Family. And I want to check out Pan Am, New Girl and The Secret Circle.

How about you? Did you go to any of these panels at Comic-Con?

  2. I wasn’t able to go to any of the panels. It was my first time this year so I was overwhelmed. And of course, I prioritized books and some comic book panels. Next year, I plan to go to at least one TV panel!

I’m looking forward to Pan Am, New Girl, and the Secret Circle also. I am also excited about the Ringer. Huge SMG fan over here, so I’m going to be invested. Hopefully the hype lives up to it’s name!
